Custom Titanium

Custom titanium CNC machining is the precision processing of titanium alloys manufactured to customer-defined specifications. Titanium is prized for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio—comparable to steel at 45% of the weight—along with outstanding corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. The most commonly machined alloy is Ti-6Al-4V, accounting for approximately half of all titanium used in manufacturing.

Titanium presents significant machining challenges: low thermal conductivity concentrating heat at the cutting edge, high chemical reactivity causing built-up edge, low modulus of elasticity causing deflection, and work hardening. We use specialized tooling with AlTiN coatings, high-pressure through-spindle coolant, and profile compensation techniques. Tolerances are held to ±0.01mm standard, with high-precision work reaching ±0.005mm. Every custom order is unique—your design, your tolerances, your material, your finish.

FAQs
  • What is custom titanium CNC machining?

We produce titanium parts to your specific design—your dimensions, tolerances, material, and finish. Every job is unique and built to your requirements.
  • What titanium grades can you machine for custom orders?

Grade 2, Grade 5, and Grade 23. Grade 5 is most common for high-strength applications. Grade 23 is used for medical implants.
  • Why is titanium difficult to machine?

Titanium has low thermal conductivity concentrating heat at the cutting edge, is chemically reactive causing built-up edge, has low modulus of elasticity causing deflection, and work hardens when rubbed instead of cut.
  • What tolerances can custom titanium machining achieve?

Standard precision holds ±0.01mm. High-precision work reaches ±0.005mm using profile compensation techniques to counter deflection.
  • Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. We machine single prototypes and high-volume production runs with the same quality standards.
  • What industries use custom titanium CNC machining?

Aerospace, medical devices, automotive high-performance parts, and marine. Titanium is specified where weight reduction and corrosion resistance are critical.
