Capabilities
We provide CNC turning services on conventional turning centers, multi-axis turning centers with live tooling, and Swiss-type sliding headstock machines. Conventional turning handles diameters up to 600mm and lengths to 1,500mm. Swiss turning handles diameters up to 32mm with high length-to-diameter ratios. All turning centers are equipped with programmable tool turrets, through-spindle coolant, and part catchers for automated operation. Live tooling capability allows milling of cross-holes, slots, and flats without removing the part from the machine. We turn aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, brass, copper, and engineering plastics. In-process gauging verifies diameters during cutting and compensates for tool wear and thermal growth. Post-process inspection includes CMM verification, surface roughness measurement, and concentricity checks. Threading capabilities include single-point threading, thread milling, and thread rolling. We machine prototypes and production quantities from 1 to 100,000+ parts per year. Quality systems are ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified. Documentation includes material test reports, dimensional inspection reports, certificates of conformance, and AS9102 FAI upon request.

FAQs
  • What is CNC turning?

CNC turning is a machining process that rotates a workpiece against a stationary cutting tool to remove material and create cylindrical parts. The workpiece is held in a spindle and rotated at high speed while the cutting tool moves along the surface to produce diameters, faces, tapers, grooves, and threads. It is the primary process for manufacturing round components.
  • What is the difference between CNC turning and CNC milling?

Turning rotates the workpiece against a stationary tool to create cylindrical parts—shafts, bushings, and fittings. Milling rotates the cutting tool against a stationary workpiece to create flat surfaces, slots, and complex 3D geometries. Turning produces round parts; milling produces flat or contoured parts.
  • What materials can you turn?

We turn aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, brass, copper, and engineering plastics including PEEK, Acrylic, Nylon, Delrin, and PTFE.
  • What is Swiss turning?

Swiss turning uses a sliding headstock and guide bushing that supports the workpiece close to the cutting point. This provides stability for long, slender parts with high length-to-diameter ratios. It delivers tight concentricity and fine surface finishes.
  • What tolerances can CNC turning achieve?

Standard turning holds ±0.05mm. Precision work holds ±0.01mm. High-precision turning reaches ±0.005mm on request. Concentricity within 0.01mm TIR is standard.
  • Can you turn parts with threads?

Yes, we perform internal and external threading, including single-point threading, thread milling, and thread rolling.
